Jim Soward LPC, LISAC, NCGC II, BACC
Jim is licensed as both a Professional Counselor and a Substance Abuse Counselor. He lives in Tucson with his wife Dr. Joanne Haupert. We have 3 adult children and 2 still living at home with us. I have extensive experience working with individuals, groups, and families since 1997. I have been in recovery from alcohol and other drugs since 1989. My experience living with addiction and then the recovery process gives me a unique understanding of the needs of people seeking help.
I graduated from Chapman University with a Masters degree in counseling, and before entering private practice worked for five years as the program manager for the Substance Abuse program at the Pascua Yaqui tribe and then the manager of Adult Behavioral Health Services for the Tribe. I continually attends trainings on various behavioral health practices.
I am licensed as both a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) and as a LISAC (Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor) In addition I am a Nationally |Certified Gambling Counselor II (NCGC II) and am certified by the National Council on Problem Gambling as a supervisor ( BACC).
